About Sri Lanka Holiday Guides

Sri Lanka Holiday Guides began with a simple idea: show Sri Lanka as it actually is, not the postcard version, not a brochure written to sell you something.

Travel isn’t just about checking places off a list. It’s the people you meet, the food you didn’t plan to try, the small moments that stick with you longer than any landmark does.

In Sri Lanka, those moments come easily. A conversation over tea, directions that turn into a story, a place you found by accident that wasn’t on any list. That’s the kind of travel we want to help you find, and this site is where we put everything we’ve learned along the way.

Who We Are

Arith Chamodya

Arith Chamodya

Chief Writer

Arith writes most of the guides. He’s the one who’s actually been to these places, tried the food, taken the wrong turn, and figured out what’s worth telling you about.

Ashan Kusalanka

Ashan Kusalanka

Ashan handles the technical side of the site, the part that makes sure you can actually find it, and that it works properly once you’re here.

Between the two of us, we try to keep this simple: useful information, written by someone who’s actually done it, without the fluff.

Sri Lanka Holiday Guides

What You'll Find Here

Some guides help you plan your trip. Others just deepen your sense of a place. You’ll find:

  • Clear travel guides without unnecessary distractions
  • Local insights that go beyond the usual highlights
  • Simple tips that make your trip smoother
  • Details that are often overlooked but matter once you’re here

Nothing complicated. Just useful information, clearly communicated.

Editor's Experiences

We also keep a section called Editor’s Experiences. These aren’t structured guides, they’re personal accounts from actually traveling around the island. Some are good days, some aren’t, but all of them are true, written as they happened, no filters, no edits.

Why This Exists

There’s a lot of travel content out there, and a lot of it feels disconnected from what you actually experience once you land. This is our attempt at closing that gap, sharing what we know honestly, without dressing it up as something else.

Take your time, explore the guides, and plan a trip that actually fits you. We hope Sri Lanka gives you good memories, a few good stories, and at least one moment you didn’t see coming.
